How We Got Here

I grew up in Southern California, and as a closeted queer kid with chronic illness, theatre was my escape. My parents took me to see the National Tour of Wicked when I was a toddler, and I was hooked! I have been taking acting classes and voice lessons since I was four years old, and my passion for the stage only grew.

Once I got older, my passion brought me to Michigan, where I studied Acting at the Interlochen Arts Academy, and then to New York, where I just graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Acting from Syracuse University. I am also honored to be this year's recipient of the Edward G. Greer Prize for Classical Acting! Highlights from my Syracuse journey include my study abroad in London at Shakespeare's Globe, originating a role in a brand-new musical through SU's New Works New Voices Initiative, and studying with the Tepper Semester this past spring, right here in NYC!

Me, as an Artist

My biggest passion as a theatre artist is forwarding queer and trans stories. I started my coming out journey after seeing the Broadway production of Fun Home, so I know firsthand how life-changing queer representation onstage can be.

I am a proud non-binary lesbian, and I love playing roles that allow me to live in one or both of those identities. Whether it's the queering of a traditionally cishet classic Shakespeare or Chekhov role, or a new work celebrating queer people in the modern day, I love showing the wide array of what queer stories can look like!

Additionally, I have a passion for new work, abstract forms, and the horror genre.

Me, as a Human

My two biggest passions outside of theatre are writing poetry, and engaging in queer activism and education. You can find my poetry and personal narrative pieces in MOODY Magazine, or watch my TedX Talk focused on queer representation in film and television (that I gave at nineteen!) on YouTube, the official Ted Talk website, or on my media page!

When I'm not filling my cup with those interests, you can find me enjoying stand-up comedy, exploring the city with my friends and my girlfriend, or getting spooked by the latest horror movies. I also have a slight obsession with interior decorating, and am constantly finding new trinkets and posters to decorate my room with!
